Biography
Dr. Candace Lacayo is an Associate Professor and the Clinical Education Coordinator of the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program. She is also the Faculty Fellow for Inclusive Excellence within the Graduate Division. Under her leadership, the inaugural Mentoring for Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence (MARIE) Program launched in the spring 2023 semester. During her 17 years at Mason, she also created the Bolstering Excellence in Athletic Training Students (BEATS) Mentoring Program, led the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence task force, and currently serves as the Director of the CEHD Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
